Before you start doing it, make sure that you import two stocks I have provided into Photoshop. Here you go:

Step 1:
Click and drag the grass layer from its document to another document. The grass layer will be named layer1 by default.

Step 2:
With layer1 selected, press Ctrl + T (you will get transformation option for the layer). Right click on the layer and then click on flip vertically. Position the grass as if it overlaps the lower portion of T-shirt of the girl. Also adjust the alignment of the grass as shown in the figure.

Step 3:
Now press enter to release the transformation layer. Now perform three task in this step.
1. Select Pen tool from tool box.
2. Use pen tool to select the portion of the grasses as directed in figure.
3. Select and complete a path as directed in the figure3.

Step 4:
Then right click anywhere inside the path and click on Make Selection option. You will see the result as shown in figure2 below:

Step 5:
Now next thing that we have to do is to select the grasses finely so that they wont look blur while deleting unwanted portion of grasses. For that we need to use Refine Edge option.
1. First click on Quick Selection Tool
2. Just above it, there is a refine edge option at right end, click on the refine edge option.
3. At right pane of the new window, increase the radius a bit as shown in figure.
4. Then click on the edges of the grasses to refine it and select the grasses clearly.
After you finish doing this, click on OK.

 Step 6:
Previous step will result in selection of grasses in a refined way. Now press CTRL + I ( to inverse the selection) and then press delete. This will delete the unwanted portion of the grasses.
Step 7:
Now lower the opacity of layer1 to 45% so that you can see the t-shirt behind it. It will allow us to finely erase the portion of grasses that appear above the t-shirt.
First select Eraser tool from tool box.
Next select the type and size of brush from brush preset as shown in the figure.
Erase the portion of grass that are above the t-shirt but before doing this make sure you have selected layer1.

Step8:
We are almost to complete this tutorial. All that is left to erase the legs of girl and tag.
For this we can use Patch tool or Clone Stamp Tool. But I recommend to use Patch Tool as it makes you more easy for this tutorial. However I have used both Clone Stamp and Patch Tool to complete this task.
1. First hide the layer1.
2. Choose Clone Stamp Tool from tool box.
3. Choose a source point from where to clone (make sure to select the background layer). For this press ALT key and click on the point that you want  to be source. I have mentioned the source point that I took in this tutorial. ( It is better if you take the source point from near by area).
4. After you choose the source point, just click and drag on the shadows to replace with source area. Similarly remove foot portions too.

Step 9:
Now in this step we are using patch tool to remove the desired portions.
1. First select the patch tool.
2. Select legs of the girl and replace with another nearby portion (just click the selected portion and drag it to another portion with which you want to replace)
3. Similarly remove the tag from photo.
Step 10:
Its almost done now. Increase the opacity of layer1 to 100% and crop the document as shown in the figure:

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Cheers!! Please post your valuable comments below.

How to make cartooned background leaving the people look real

This tutorial will show you how to get realistic people within a cartooned or say sketched photo. This tutorial requires no major specialization in Photoshop tools. A beginner too can try for this tutorials and this is really a very easy but nice effect to apply in any photo. All that is needed is Adobe Photoshop Application of any version. Hope this tutorial will help you.
Well, we will start picking up a picture that will finally take the following look:

Final Result of the tutorial - getting realistic people with cartooned background

In above picture, we can see that the environment is cartooned but the people sitting there look realistic. So now we will learn how to do this. Here are the steps;
Step 1:
Firstly, run Adobe Photoshop application ( Shortcut: Press Windows(key) + R and then type ‘Photoshop’ and press enter).
Now we need to import picture from our computer. If you want the image I am using in this tutorial you can simply Right click on the image and click on ‘save picture as’ and save it in your computer. Otherwise you can use your own.
Go to file menu –> click on open –> (an open dialogue box will appear) –> select the image and then click on OK.

Step 2:
When you finish importing the image, the image will appear as a layer named background which is locked by default.

Step 3:
Now we need to create a duplicate layer of the background layer. For this, (make sure your background layer is selected and Move tool ( V ) is active) press Ctrl + J. Or just right click on the background layer and the click on ‘Duplicate layer’
A duplicate layer will appear above background layer with the name ‘layer 1’ in the layers palette.

Step 4:
If you see the result as above, you are going great. Now we are applying filter property in the new layer.
Before that, set foreground color to black and background color to white.

Now, we are applying filter to layer 1, so make sure it is selected.
Then, go to Filter menu –> click on Artistic –> click on Poster Edges
you will get a window like below;

Click on OK. You will see the result as below.
Back Camera

Step 5:
Now apply vector mask to the new layer. It is very important step you are going through. All our effect that we are making depends on vector mask.
For this, Keep layer 1 selected and then click on Add vector mask icon in the bottom bar of the layers palette.

Step 6;
We are almost to completion of this tutorial. We will need to do now is to just use brush tool to the area that we want to look real.
Select brush tool (or simply press B) and then use brush set picker to define brush size and hardness and type of brush. For now use 46 px brush diameter and 0 level of hardness. Choose the type of the brush as I have used. Notice that, the brush set picker tool appear only when brush tool is active.

Step 6:
Now apply brush to the area that you want to look as before.

Step 7:

Finally the result will be as follow:

Introduction to the photoshop and common tools for beginners

Introduction to Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is one of the most powerful software applications provided by Adobe Company for image editing, touch up, color correction, and painting and drawing.  You can use it to work with images that have been digitized on flatbed or film/slide scanners, or to create original artwork. The image files you create in Photoshop can be printed to paper or optimized for use in multimedia presentations, web pages, or animation/video projects.

Introduction to the Working Tools of Photoshop
Toolbox
• Contains selection tools, painting and editing tools, foreground and background color selection boxes, and viewing tools
• To select, simply click on the icon on the toolbox (Note: the name of each tool will appear by positioning the pointer over the icon)
• A small triangle at the bottom corner of the icon indicates the presence of additional hidden tools

 Palettes
• Control behavior of its tools
• Windows menu displays a list of available palettes
• When selected, the palette will appear as a floating
window on the opened workspace
• To activate a palette click on its tab

Types of palette:
-Color
 -Swatches
 -Layers
-History

 Color
• Displays the color values for the currently selected foreground and background colors

 Swatches
• Displays a generic set of colors, but the true value of the Swatches palette is in its ability to load custom swatch collections.

 Layers
• Displays all the layers in an image.

History
• Records and displays individual changes made to an image and allows for changes to be undone selections.

Learning how to select areas of an image is of primary importance when working with Photoshop since you must first select what you want to edit. Selections allow you to isolate areas in your image and apply different effects or filters without affecting the rest of the image.
There are four basic selection tools in the toolbox.

1. The marquee tool allows you to select rectangular or elliptical areas in an image.
2. The lasso tool lets you draw a freehand selection area, with either curves or straight lines.
3. The Spot Healing Brush removes blemishes, imperfections, and red eye.
4. The move tool let you move a selection marquee or objects on a single layer.
5. The brush tool paints brush strokes.
6. The text tool creates text or type on a photo.
7. The zoom tool magnifies or reduces the size of an image.
8.  Photoshop uses the foreground color to paint, fill, and stroke selections and the background color to make gradient fills and fill in the erased areas of an image.

Layers
Every Photoshop image contains one or more layers. Every new file is created with a background, which can be converted to a layer. When you scan an image and open it in Photoshop, it is placed on the background. Layers are a fundamental part of Photoshop's versatility.

A layer is a transparency sheet with an image on it.  You can edit, transform, or add filters to a layer independently from other layers.  You can make one layer alter the look of a layer above or below it.  You can save a file with the layers and easily change your design later, by editing one or more of the layers.

Masks
Masks can be used to block out one area of an image or protect it from manipulations.  A mask is a selection shown as a gray scale image: the white areas are selected, the black areas are not.

A person jumping out of photo frame - tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to get a person out of any photo frame. This is really a good technique that a designer should know. This isn’t so hard enough to do. Even a beginner can try for this tutorial. I am using Adobe Photoshop CS5 for this tutorial. But, it says without going that you can have this done in any versions of Photoshop.

Preview of the final result

Step1:

I have used a photo, a person jumping on the helipad. U can used another photo or just right click on this photo and save image in your computer and use the same.
Now load the image in the Photoshop (shouldn’t be a hard task for you). For this you can just click an and drag the image over the Photoshop icon on the taskbar (if it is already open) and place within the document.

When you place this image in Photoshop it will be placed as a layer named Background in the layers palette.

Step2:
Initially, the background layers are often locked with a sign of locker. For now, we need to unlock that layer. For this, double click on the background layer. You should see a window like below;

If you want to give another name to the layer the type that name in the name field as mentioned. Otherwise leave as it is. For this tutorial, I just click on OK without any changes. Now my background layer turns to be Layer 0.

Step 3:
To create the frame border
click on the marquee tool as mentioned in the figure. Now draw a rectangular area ( you may decide how much area you want your image to be displayed). Then Press Alt key and again draw a rectangle inside the previously drawn rectangle. Pressing alt key will remove the selected area and will give us with the required frame to certain width.

Step 4:
Now we need to create a new layer where we will make border for our frame.

In layers pallete just click on the icon I mentioned. It will create a new layer with name layer 1.

Rename the new layer as frameborder.

Step 5:

Now to get a frame border, choose a foreground color as you wish. For now, I have chosen white color.
Now click on Paint bucket tool as mentioned in figure, then fill on the selected area (But make sure that you have chosen the frameborder layer.

Step 6:

Now the important part of our design comes here. We need to give a 3D look to our frameborder. Keep the layer frameborder selected. Press V to activate move tool and then Press Ctrl + T. It will bring transformation.
Now Press Control Key and Click on the top left corner and bottom left corner, respectively, of the frameborder layer and drag it so as it looks like the figure below.

Step 7:

Now Using pent tool, draw a path around the frame border. Notice that, I have included the upper part of the person. Just draw path as directed in the figure below. To finish drawing the path, you need to join the beginning point and the end point.

Step 8:
Now we need to delete the outer part of the frame excluding the person upper body part. We you finish drawing path (with the pen tool selected), right click on the path and click on make selection. You will get a window as above. Click on OK. Then you will get to see some selections there. This is the selection inside the frame. To invert the selection, Press CTRL+I

Now make sure Layer 0 is selected and then press delete.  You will get the result as below.

Step 10:

We have completed almost 80 percent of our task. As mentioned below, Select Eraser Tool, make sure the frameborder layer is selected and then erase the part of the layer that encounter the body part of the person.

Step 11:

Now to place something as background, create a new layer and give it a name "background" and then place it at the bottom level in the layers pallete.

 Step 12:

Now fill the layer with a gradient color. For this follow the steps as mentioned in the figure. Choose foreground color: #ca9e7c
background color: #40a2e4

Further more, choose radial gradient and make sure the foreground to background color gradient is selected.

Now draw a radial gradient in the background layer.
